Ed Parker Sr.'s
International Kenpo Karate Association

Welcome to the official website of the International Kenpo Karate Association (I.K.K.A.) ™ and Senior Grandmaster Edmund K. Parker Sr. s, American Kenpo Karate ™ system. Through this website, we invite you to learn about the I.K.K.A. and about the martial arts system that has revolutionized the martial arts world. The legacy of Ed Parker Sr. lives on through the wisdom and discipline of those who worked with him, learned from him, and followed his principles.

The International Kenpo Karate Association originated in 1956 as the Kenpo Karate Association of America. It was registered with the state of California for the purposes of governing Kenpo in the continental U.S. The K.K.A.A. was changed to the I.K.K.A. in 1960 when association members began migrating to other countries around the world.

It was Ed Parker Sr. ’s intention that no single successor be appointed to run the I.K.K.A.™, since he felt that no individual had received the full scope of his teachings and knowledge. Therefore, it is our desire to work with I.K.K.A. Black Belts as a collective group of consultants in the art. The I.K.K.A. Advisors Group along with the I.K.K.A. Executive Committee welcome those who wish to move Ed Parker Sr. ’s work forward by learning, growing, and maintaining the integrity of the art and SGM Ed Parker Sr. ‘s vision.

We are confident that this collaborative approach, as expressed by Ed Parker Sr., will build a solid foundation and a sustainable association to serve its membership for many future generations of Ed Parker Sr. American Kenpo Karate system practitioners. An association of members, for members, run by members.
